Where are we ? Where do we want to go ? How will we achieve our goals?

The more I look at community based groups the more I despair . At home I was 'ambushed' at a community council meeting (the REAL meeting was held about a week before). I used the meeting to launch a counter attack . I spoke on the relevence of the 1937 Constitution and what it meant to be a citizen of a republic. What it means to be subservive ( my audience included a former secondary school principle and a priests housekeeper!) the closure of the West Cork Railway Line in 1961( look it up!) the role of public repersentatives . Misuse of local newspapers, radio and websites. Self appionted organisations with no members (does this seem familiar dear reader) - boy were they sorry.

As many of you will be aware I intend to finish of a masters on Social Capital this winter. ETHICS is a word I hear coming up more and more frequently. You dont have to be religious to be ethical but it helps . TRUST is the single most important word in Social Capital literature - if trust goes its very difficult to get it back .

Someone called an AGM of this organisation . Who are you ? Show yourself please?
