Longford Community Resources Limited are seeking partners for a project “to re-skill/up skill workers from a rural/small farmer/ex-construction worker context to meet future challenges and opportunities (including self employment) as Ireland faces a carbon neutral economy”.

The kind of joint actions that could be developed include:

Organizing joint events, seminars and training courses, particularly in relation to retraining trades people in the construction industry to avail of potential opportunities in environmentally friendly building techniques, creating local biomass supply chains and creating energy efficiency (thermal performance, passive homes, etc). Provision of business skills training.
Creating local energy supply chains for the long term, reliable supply of economic sources of biomass to the power generating sector.
Exchanging best practices around stimulating rural employment, including self employment opportunities on small farms, allotments, etc.
Production of joint publications
The target groups are unemployed construction workers, farmers, environmental groups and all rural dwellers.
